Camp FAQ
Listed below are a couple frequently asked questions about our youth camps. Please take some time to read through these as they solve many issues and often answer questions you forget to ask!
Where are the camps held?
Our Spring Camps are held on the field at the VFW. The address there is 4000 33rd St N in St. Petersburg, FL. Our Summer camps are held at our indoor complex, located at 3199 46th Ave N, on Monday and Friday. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday the camps will be held on the fields at Mangrove Bay located at 875 62nd Ave NE. Should weather change our plans we will call everyone as we transport the campers inside. Please make sure we have an accurate daytime phone number!
How early/late can I drop off/pick up my kid?
Camp runs from 9a-2p. We will be arriving at the field/complex at 8:30a to set up. If you need extra time after 2p, we charge $5 per hour of after care. The kids will be transported back to the complex and can play in our game room, watch TV or continue to use our batting cages until pick up.
What should they wear?
When we are indoors, please make sure they are wearing sneakers and shorts. Outside, please make sure they are wearing baseball pants and baseball shoes if they have some. Hats and sunscreen are mandatory outside (sunglasses are strongly suggested)! We break for a slip-n-slide right after lunch to practice sliding and to cool off, so allow them to bring swim trunks and a towel (Summer Camps only). Even if we begin the day outside, we may have to move inside so please pack sneakers everyday!
What equipment should I bring?
Bring what you have! Helmet, glove, batting gloves, bat(s), and catchers gear are all welcome. If you don't have any of this equipment we are able to provide loaners. Also, we usually end up with a substantial lost and found each day so please try and keep names on equipment if possible.
What's for lunch?
We will have slices of pizza, bags of chips, gatorade, and water available for purchase. Everything is $1 so $5 or $6 usually fills the belly each day. You are more than welcome to pack a lunch if there are any concerns about our "menu." I will ask for and keep track of any cash at the beginning of each week/day so that loose bills or change don't get lost or stolen.
